Dear Students,
Congratulations on being accepted into Dr. D. Y. Patil Dnyan Prasad University (DUPDPU) in Pune.
We are a welcoming, inclusive, multi-generational learning community. This is the start of a new adventure.
The prospect of starting a new academic year together with you excites me much. I have witnessed our community come together both in
happy and difficult times, encouraging one another to become more considerate and active citizens and lending a hand when someone
needed it. I want to urge you to think about how you will use your time here, where you will focus your skills, and how you could
give back to the university community as you get ready to move on to campus. I want to remind you that your past does not
define you, even though it could be simple to carry on with familiar routines in a new setting. Try to change something while
you're here. I urge you to keep an open mind to novel concepts, encounters, and paths. You will surely be challenged to think
about new topics or view old themes in new ways because you will be studying from the best in the area and have the smartest
people around you. You never know what might catch your attention. You came to DYPDPU with the expectation of receiving an
education, but you will gain much more. In the process of writing your own narrative, you will contribute to the next chapter
of the university's history. The community of friends and colleagues you will find here is like no other. You will receive
daily education from instructors and fellow students, as well as support from an incredible network of mentors and coworkers.
There are countless people who are willing to spend as many hours as necessary listening to you practice and offering feedback
when you reach milestones or when it’s time for your first professional presentation or for your oral tests. And if
anything unexpected happens in life, everyone in the community will come together to support you and provide you a listening ear.
You will never experience loneliness while you are here. There is no other place quite like DYPDPU and I hope you find this to
be true as well. I conclude by offering you some simple tips on how to make the most of your time at the university. Share your knowledge and skills; do not keep them to yourself. Challenge yourself and your peers every day. Absorb everything. And, above all, have fun. You have the power to change people’s lives – the lives of students, faculty, and staff. And I look forward to doing this with you!
I wish you all the best of luck in everything you do!
